I was in public school more than half a century ago, and boys got all the negative attention in class, while girls got nothing but positive attention. The claim that girls are marginalized and ignored in favor of boys has always been a preposterous myth.
This is such an important conversation Grainger. Society has condemned boys, has left them to the wolves, and has propped up a number of other causes they deem “more pressing.” I’m grateful to see more and more men AND women speaking about this. Men need more
visibility, acknowledgement, and resources. The future of society depends on it.
This is nothing new. Even back when I was in school from the late 1950s to the early 1970s, boys in class got little attention, unless it was negative, and girls got constant attention, almost always positive. The notion of boys dominating classrooms and girls being marginalized and ignored is a preposterous myth.

What is going on with the idea that boys do not need have an enjoyable learning experience at school anymore ? No wonder boys want to drop out.
